Terms of Service

Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using Invoixa, you agree to these Terms of Service.

AI-powered software disclaimer

Invoixa uses artificial intelligence (AI) to extract and categorize transaction data from uploaded bank and credit card statements. AI-generated results can sometimes be incorrect — for example, misreading a merchant name, miscategorizing a transaction, or missing a transaction due to formatting issues in your statement. You should review all extracted and categorized data for accuracy before relying on it.

Always verify your final numbers with a licensed accountant or tax professional before filing your taxes. Invoixa is a tool to help you organize and estimate — it does not replace professional review, and we are not liable for errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in AI-extracted or AI-categorized data.

What Invoixa is — and is not

Invoixa provides estimated tax calculations and expense categorization tools for informational purposes only.

Invoixa is not:

  • A substitute for professional tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice.
  • A tax filing or preparation service. Invoixa is not certified by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for NETFILE, EFILE, or any electronic filing service, because Invoixa does not file returns on your behalf.
  • A guarantee of your actual tax liability, refund, or obligations.

Known limitations of our tax estimate feature (disclosed for transparency):

  • Estimates are based on federal and provincial income tax brackets, CPP contribution rules, and the Basic Personal Amount, for the tax year indicated in the app.
  • Estimates do not currently account for refundable tax credits (e.g., GST/HST credit, Canada Workers Benefit), capital gains, dividend income, or certain provincial low-income credits.
  • For Manitoba, the Basic Personal Amount phase-out for net income between $200,000 and $400,000 is not modelled, so Manitoba tax can be understated at high incomes.
  • Quebec is currently excluded from the automated tax estimate due to its distinct provincial tax system (separate return, QPP instead of CPP, federal abatement, QPIP) — Invoixa's statement categorization and expense tracking remain fully available to Quebec users.
  • If you have investment income, capital gains, dividends, or a complex tax situation, use a full tax preparation service or consult an accountant in addition to Invoixa.

You are solely responsible for verifying any figures before relying on them, filing your taxes, or making financial decisions. We recommend consulting a licensed accountant or tax professional for your actual tax filing.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Invoixa and its owner(s) are not liable for any damages, losses, or costs — including but not limited to financial losses, penalties, interest, or costs arising from reliance on estimates provided by the service, errors in calculation, service interruptions, or data loss — arising from your use of the service.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter or upload.
  • You must not use the service for any unlawful purpose.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

Subscription and payment

Payments are non-refundable. All fees paid for a Subscription are final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law. If you cancel your Subscription, you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period, but no partial or prorated refund will be issued for the unused portion of that period.

Final decision-making authority

Where these Terms give Invoixa discretion — including decisions about account suspension or termination, disputed transactions, refund exceptions required by law, or interpretation of these Terms — Invoixa's decision is final. This does not limit any rights you may have under applicable Canadian consumer protection law, which cannot be waived by these Terms.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms. You may close your account at any time; see the Privacy Policy for how to request account and data deletion.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
